♡ 18 ( +1 | -1 ) If you want official tournamentsI'm afraid you may not find any in your area. if you are interested in playing USCF rated tournaments, you may have to travel to get them. As far as I know all the tournaments can be found in their website, or in chesslife.

♡ 49 ( +1 | -1 ) local tournamentsEvery state has a chess publication that covers events in that state. These publications also have games and interesting articles. Occasionally these publications are listed in Chess Life. Oregon, Washington and Idaho have Northwest Chess which list all the tournaments in each state. With a little surfing you could probably find the one that covers your state. I recall Michigan as having an outstanding chess magazine.
