average moves per game Other than the obvious, what do you think this stat says about a player?
More moves= more conservative?
Less moves=more open style?

This does not means much, because it depends on the sportsmanship of both players. What if you obtain a won position after a small number of moves, but your opponent do not resign, and want to play twenty or more unneccesary moves ? Some people here on GK do not resign with 2 or more pieces less, no, you have to give math. This is not very pleasant ...

I agree with keiserpaul but more moves say that player rarely have timeouted games (which means he's regular GK-visitor)

15 - 30 What does it a matter! I have an opponent who asked to me resign. I said 'get stuffed', well in similar words. He promised to make me suffer and punish me. So I will make try to make this the longest game in GK history!

Easy to pad It's easy to pad your average moves per game by drawing out lost causes. And it's easy to lower your moves per game by giving up when you fall behind. I think it is kind of a meaningless statistic. A better stat would be checkmates in less than 30 moves.
